History of the building
Maplewood Rafters is a beautiful event space inside of a fully refurbished church that dates back to 1892. In 2006, ad agency Moosylvania completed a 6-million-dollar renovation of the building, which included a complete modernization of the 4-story church, the attached school building and the commercial kitchen.
The church building has always held a spirited community, as evidenced by the fact that it was named Nash’s Folly in 1926. Moosylvania and its 50+ employees use the sanctuary as the agency’s reception area during normal business hours, but the newly staged choir loft rocks the rafters on weekend nights. Maplewood Rafters, established in July of 2019, serves the community by hosting charity events and is also available for private event bookings.
